FAQ

  • A Biomechanics gym is a place where we can view ourselves as the scientists of our bodies and use movements that replicate our biological blueprint (like Standing, Walking, Running, and Throwing) as the experimental tools to figure out how to eliminate waste in our movement, orient our behaviors around regeneration, and find community in like minded individuals willing to make changes today that can affect & benefit ourselves long into the later years of our life.

  • We usually recommend a client attend a session no less than 2 times a week at least within the first month of beginning the program however, the frequency of your attendance will only increase the speed in which you experience results.

  • Yes, we offer remote sessions although we do recommend you visiting the facility for an initial consultation first before scheduling virtual sessions as we can make a more exact assessment of your overall health in person with the tools already at our facility.

  • Not a problem! We can work with you virtually, however, you will be REQUIRED to purchase and start/complete the Functional Patterns 10 week online course first prior to scheduling any sessions. If you have scheduled a session without starting/completing the 10 week online course, then your coach has the option to cancel your session the day of (you will not receive a refund if you cancel within a 24 hour window of the start of your session).

  • The short answer is no. We HIGHLY recommend any participant (especially if you are currently experiencing acute pain) at Symmetry Biomechanics to begin an elimination protocol of all movements and to simply focus on the other aspects of your regeneration journey while you sort out the sources of your pain (if you experience any) and dysfunctions until your practitioner has recommended so. If the source of your current dysfunctions were caused inadvertently by your previous exercise regimen or behaviors then it makes sense that we would want to take a more careful look at what it is that your body needs less of versus more.

  • We first need to address your biomechanics and behaviors before oversimplifying what it is that your body actually needs versus what you believe it needs. Your body needs to learn to reduce its inflammation, and stress of all types are a factor of this (including exercise). You may be using certain behaviors (ie. Drinking, Smoking, Overeating, etc.) as coping mechanisms to deal with stress in your life and/or body. When you learn to reduce stress and reach the root causes of issues you will find it much easier to reach homeostasis and regenerate the body. Our overall goal is to get you moving more, however, we want to make sure you’re able to do so pain-free for years to come.
